Basic Doctrines (Biblical Foundation)

1. The Word of God (Authority of Scripture) Our Daily Bread we need!

We believe the Bible is the Word of God and the final authority for all doctrine and life.

2 Timothy 3:16–17 “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.”

2 Corinthians 13:1 - KJV

1. This is the third time I am coming to you. In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established. 

2 Peter 1:20–21“Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.
For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.”

Matthew 4:4“But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.”

2. The Nature of God (Father, Son, Holy Spirit)

We believe in one God revealed as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Matthew 28:19“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:”

2 Corinthians 13:14“The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen.”

3. Jesus Christ is God (Divinity of Christ)

John 1:1“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”

John 1:14“And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.”

John 20:28“And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.”

Titus 2:13“Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;”

Hebrews 1:8“But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.”

4. The Holy Spirit is God (Spirit of Christ) 

Acts 5:3–4“But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost,.… thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.”

John 6:63 “It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.”

1 Corinthians 3:16 “Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?”

We must follow the Spirit and bear Fruit of the Spirit. (Romans 8:1-16, Gal 5:20)

5. Doctrine of Salvation

A. By Faith in Jesus and By His grace we are cleansed.

Ephesians 2:8–9 “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Not of works, lest any man should boast.”

Romans 10:9–10“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”

B. You must be Born of the Spirit of God. & Baptism of Water. 

John 3:5. Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 

Mark 16:16 “He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.”

C. Repentance of Sins. 

Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.”

6. True Faith Requires Obedience Holy Living

Matthew 7:21“Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.”

James 2:17“Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.”

1 Corinthians 6:9. Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, 10. Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. 

7. The Spirit of Antichrist (Discernment against False teachers)

1 John 2:22–23“Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.
Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.”

1 John 4:3“And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.”

8. The Mission: Preach the Gospel of the Kingdom

Mark 16:15–17 “And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;”

Matthew 28:19. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 

9. The Greatest Commandment: Love

Mark 12:30–31“And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.
And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.”

John 13:35“By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.”

10. The Call to Make Disciples and teach.   

Matthew 28:19“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”

  1. Speaking in tongues, Casting out Demons, Healing (gifts of the Holy Spirit follows a believer)

Mark 16:17. And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; 18. they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.” 

Matthew 10:7. And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ 8. Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give. 

Acts 16:18 And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour.”

12.The church is to be a place of prayer not only Bible study worship and preaching.

Matthew 21:13 – “And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.”
